Mary Beougher brought the meeting to order at 8 am at the Rockford Village Hall. There were 13 members present .

 

Mary introduced Lindsey Gehret. Lindsey is the new administrator at Colonial Nursing Home.

 

We began the meeting getting the details worked out for the August 6th Sock Hop and Cruise in.

 

We are going to plan for 300 guests. The Laurels has donated the bowls and spoons for the ice cream.  Colonial Nursing will be donating 300 cookies.  Fremont will be donating a case of ketchup.  First Financial has donated napkins.  We have several volunteers to work the food stand and ice cream machine.  We need more donations and helpers.  Please contact  Mary Beougher or Lisa Kuhn if you can make a donation and/or volunteer to help the day of the event.

 

Norm, Mike and Doug will get the ice cream machine from the park.

 

Nancy Leighner will get some volunteers to help with 50/50.

 

The Rockford Carry Out may help with some food items to sell – this would need to be added to the press release.

 

Doug and Mike will work on door prizes.

 

Clete and Jerry will check in the cars and give guests the necessary paperwork.

 

Mary will check on getting some porta pots for the Sock Hop event.

 

We need to update the Rockford Beanfest flyer to be handed out at the Sock Hop. We will begin the music at 1 pm and each performance will be approx. 45 min.

 

We will have another Sock Hop meeting on July 28th – make sure everything is ready to go  – 8 am – Village Hall.

 

The Community Days Dunk tank proceeds of $466 will be donated on July 28th at 8 am.

 

Financials – Checking balance = $7215.71.  We are looking at $5,000 for the new Welcome Sign.  Lisa to get information to Dan Henkle so we can contact the various organizations that are represented.

 

Taking names of members that are interested in the Leadership in Action program. Need information to Celina by end of August.  Please contact Lisa Kuhn if interested.

 

Need to find out what year the Bean Bake actually started ???

 

Mary stated – The Sock Hop and the Bean Bake events were revived with the help of Tom Rogers to give back to the Community.  Now it’s our turn to step up and give back by helping make these events successful !   This also give the Chamber  some visibility that we are working to promote our community !.
