    Welcome –  5 Members present – Marie, Lucas, Amanda, Leah, Lisa   August minutes were posted online web site and Facebook link.   Financial report – Amanda Paid Chamber scholarship.   Upcoming expenses – invitations, banquet, speaker, web site and directory, Decorating (Tolanda) for Grand Celebration and appetizers (RCO).     Upcoming event updates   October 5th – Veterans Memorial Fundraiser –  They will leave tables and chair up after event for banquet set up.       October 7 – Chamber Banquet – Add Mercer Metaltheir generous donation to the Chamber for printing our directories. Chamber News: July 2019

Welcome – 5 board members present.   June minutes – posted on Facebook for all to see !   Financial report – not much to report. Balance staying steady. We have several projects coming up we need to Budget. The Bicentennial Chamber Directory and Visitors guide – a commemorative edition with more historical and to include the Bicentennial year celebration of events.     Lisa and Marie to meet next week to start working on ideas and content. Brand It will be giving an official quote for their creative expertise in making this a good quality Bicentennial edition.   We also need to budget for the Chamber Banquet and the Grand Ball to ring in the new year. We will be using this information to update the web site too!   These projects will take place in August and September and be ready for the October Chamber banquet….     Upcoming event updates July 31st deadlines – will send reminder email to those involved Mercer County Leadership Scholarship – have given information to Rockford Carry Out – might be interested. 3rd Quarter Chamber Event – 22nd – Rockford Library – 6 – 8 pm – Social media for business print directory, the street banners (need size and direction), website etc – August / September production may make book larger – need to check with Reynolds to see if that’s possible. Marie will collect money at 9 pm. Fun Challenge Canceled – to bad we didn’t have more interest. Maybe at another time of year perhaps – a fall event. Mercer County Leadership Scholarship – August deadline to find someone interested. 3rd Quarter Chamber Event – Tentative dates August 8th or 22nd. Will finalize at July meeting. Will be another social media class. print directory / website will begin updating in August.     Will send email for a July 31st deadline for content. Banners – we will see how the Veterans banners go – may work on 1 nice banner for bicentennial. President Marie Miller brought meeting to order at 8 am and welcomed everyone.   6 members present.   Reviewed April minutes   Financial report – Amanda sent report as unable to attend meeting. Not much activity for April.   Upcoming event updates Parkway Scholarship Presentation – May 15 – Parkway – 7 pm – Marie will make presentation to Lauren Stuckey We had good feedback from Sierra – she enjoyed the day listening to interviews and would be willing to attend on behalf of the Chamber next year. Chamber News: April 11, 2019

Chamber meeting – April 11, 2019   Welcome – 8 board members present along with Guest speakers Michelle Clune and John Yoder.     Michelle Clune to presented information from Ohio Business Week. It’s the only week long business camp in Ohio where high school students practice tackling authentic business challenges while having a real college experience.   This year dates are July 21-27th.   High school students with advisor starts a business from start to finish – business plan, marketing, etc.   Class time, group sessions and speakers are also included in this week long business camp to prepare students for Life and achieve success.   John Yoder presented his experience with the camp 30 years ago. It’s in a college setting and it was good for him as a shy student to work outside of his comfort zone. It made a big difference in his life.   They will be contacting Parkway to see if there might be a student for this year’s camp and requesting that the chamber partner with another business to provide this opportunity to a local student.   The Chamber members thanked them or their time and presenting this excellent opportunity for a Parkway student. The members agreed that if a student is interested we will help support their camp fees.   Total cost of the camp is $949.   The Chamber will offer a $500 scholarship for this and the student would need to raise the additional funds from family / and or business sponsorship.     Reviewed March minutes and finances.   New Business   Chief May gave summary of the vest grant program. The grant pays 75% of the costs. The Chamber via the Crime Awareness Fund presented a check of $695 to the Rockford Police Department . Photo taken and press release will be done.   May 23rd will be the Social Media presentation – open to members and public.   Chamber members will be free – will cost $10 to public and non members. Will be held at either the Library or the Community building from 6 – 8 pm.   The Bicentennial Committee has approached the Rockford Chamber to help organize, advertise, financially support the Bicentennial Grand Ball.
