Welcome – 6 executive board members present   – Next meeting will be held on April 11 at 8 am for Board.   Opening Remarks February Meet and Greet – good feedback, good attendance.   The Community knows there is something happening with the Chamber Thank you to RCO for providing snacks!   January minutes – reviewed and approved minutes.   Financial report – Amanda gave report. Not much happening at this time. We will continue to work on memberships.     New Business Chief May – request funds from Crime Awareness Fund for Vests – Fund balance $6951 can use up to 10% – per Leota Braun Foundation guidelines for this account.   Committee approved the 10% withdraw. Amanda will start process talking with Jordan to see what he needs to proceed. Chamber News: January 24, 2019

January 24, 2019   The meeting began at 8 am with the Executive Board – Marie Miller, Tom Burtch, Lisa Kuhn, Amanda and Andrew Peel and Lucas Luginbill   Board members unable to attend –Leah Hays, Laura Putman   Opening words – 2019 Focus – new leadership and focus on area businesses   President duties will be shared between Marie Miller and Twyla Hayes. Vice President – Lucas Luginbill Secretary – Lisa Kuhn Treasurer – Amanda Peel. Lisa Kuhn to remain as a signer on the account with Peoples Bank.   Will need to remove the following signers – Mary Beougher, Bryan Sutton, and Terra Henkle.   Reviewed the Chamber finances and what projects we are committed to in the future.   Motion Tom and 2nd Amanda to approve the report.   New Business – determine roles and responsibilities for each position.   We will have quarterly meetings with members.   It’s going to take a while to build a new culture.     We need to concentrate on image, perception, and implement.   Marie – will work on a private Facebook page for all members in one place.   We (executive board) will communicate via the private Facebook page.   We will also be working on a Community Calendar. Lisa to get dates and events information by February 15th.   Need to post events and send invitation to share events with us on a quarterly basis.   We are planning a Chamber appreciation event / meet the new officers. Chamber News: November 8, 2018

Chamber Members First of all, on behalf of the Rockford Chamber I would just like to thank you for being a member. Your involvement in the Rockford Chamber, dedication to the Rockford Community and volunteer spirit make being a part of this organization refreshing. We have a special treat coming in the next few months for our members, stay tuned for details! Secondly, thank you to the area businesses that were represented during today’s Chamber meeting. Our organization is developing an Executive Board to best serve our area businesses and meet the needs of our community. Fresh faces were in attendance and new ideas were shared. We are excited about the future of the Chamber and invite you along with us as we fine-tune how we support our business community and grow as an organization. I encourage you to consider being an active member on the Executive Board. It is critical that we have representation from all industries to best address the needs of our businesses. A few interested parties have stepped into leadership roles, and I invite you to consider one of the following open positions; President, Secretary, Treasurer. In addition to those roles, there are 3 open seats as board members. Each role will have defined expectations and responsibilities in addition to working together to strengthen the Chamber as an organization and best servicing our business community. There will still be opportunities for volunteerism outside of our Executive board, and we look forward to hearing from our members to learn of areas we can improve and grow. They say it takes a village, so let’s pull our resources and ideas together to make a difference. Meeting Minutes: May 10, 2018

May 10, 2018   The meeting began at 8 am with 5 members present.   Lisa gave the financial report.   We are wanting to have an event at Community Days to replenish our Scholarship fund for next year. Marie Miller of Brand It Marketing has volunteered to do face painting. We will be asking businesses to sponsor our event and scholarship with a donation to the event in the amount of $25. Each sponsor will be listed on the banner to advertise the face painting event.   The face painting will cost $5. The hours will be Friday from 6 – 9 pm and Saturday from 1 – 3 pm — June 15 and 16.   Marie and Lisa will get a letter emailed to the businesses for event sponsorship.   Lisa to contact Amy to get the information on the list of events.   Twyla Hayes of Brand It Marketing has volunteered to plan / organize and facilitate the Chamber Banquet this year.   We will begin by getting a date set.   Nancy gave an update on the Leadership program. Going good !   Mary will present the Chamber Scholarship on May 16th.   Mary has convertible lined up for Barb Pedroza for Community Days parade.   Discussed doing a ribbon cutting on Saturday at the new Rock Solid Performance business..   Will check to see if that is ok with them – may do The Fix at the same time ?   Tentative 1 pm on Saturday.     The next meeting — June 14th – 8 am.       Meeting adjourned – 8:30 am.  ...

Meeting Minutes: April 12, 2018

April 12, 2018   The meeting began at 8 am with 6 members present.   Welcome to new member – Luke Stephenson – new business owner of The Fix – Functional Massage Therapy located at 142 N Main St.   Financial report – General fund balance $4646. We have no fundraisers scheduled so the only income for this year is the membership fees.   Donated $25 to the Community Days Car Show and donated $75 towards the Community Days event. Need some fundraiser ideas that doesn’t take a lot of manpower because we don’t have the volunteers needed to do something big.   New Business The Fix – we will be scheduling a ribbon cutting along with his grand opening. 1 year free membership to the Chamber and a $50 ad in the photo star. Congratulations on your new business !   The next Chamber meeting will be held on May 10th.   We have heard of another new business coming to Rockford so we will try to contact the owner to see if they are interest in coming to the May meeting to let us know what they are doing.   Discussion on what to do with Chamber scholarship.  We will continue it this year for $500 instead of $600. We can’t attend the interviews but will have Parkway set aside several applications we can review on May 20th at 8:30 am.   Discussion on funding the scholarship.   Maybe provide a game or signage at Community Days.   Several ideas to consider.   Bring back more details to the May meeting for decision.   Mary to get a convertible for Barb Pedroza – 2017 Citizen of the Year for Community Days parade.   Need nominations for 2018 Citizen of the Year and 2018 Business of the Year. Meeting Minutes: October 12, 2017

Meeting began at 8:00 am on October 12, 2017 with 5 members.   Financial report – Balance $4274.17.   “Soup”er Concert in the Park – October 8th – Thank you to all who volunteered and participated.       Thank you to Blind Date Band and the Parkway Music department for National Anthem and selections from High School Musical. Not a very good turn out and didn’t cover expenses.   We have tried several different ideas and themes but community is not supporting the event.   We will no longer be having the event.   Chamber Banquet – October 23rd   Meal –   Rockford Carry Out Decorations – will come up with something Set up – Monday – October 23rd at 3 pm. – Need volunteers to help. Program schedule – MC – Jonathan Williams Blessing – Jeff Long   Bicentennial update by Barb Pedroza – Barn Quilts – 5 minutes   New Business will be the “entertainment” – Amy Lyons and Bob Ransbottom will talk about their businesses and how they got started.   Share their story.   Robin to do programs – will be getting her updated information   There will not be a Christmas at the Park this year. No Volunteer leadership.   Purpose of Chamber – support business community. We are not getting any support or additional volunteers to continue in the same manner year after year.  Chamber will continue to support the directory, the Welcome signs and the web site.   Our only income will be the yearly membership fees and we will need to be careful how we use funds.   May have a quarterly meetings in 2018?   8 programs will no longer be sponsored by the Chamber.  We will have to decide on the yearly scholarship… may continue but with a lesser amount.  The Chamber will remain a member of the NOACC so that businesses can still get the Anthem discount.   We will update the 2018 Membership form. – We will mail in November and the due date will be January 15th, 2018. After that the membership will cost $60.00.   The next Chamber meeting will be held on November 9th at 8 am at the Colonial Nursing Center with a FREE breakfast for members.
