                        RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS:   Council called to order by Mayor Amy Joseph on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 7:30 pm at the Rockford Village Hall.   Invocation by Jeff Long   Pledge of Allegiance   Those present: Gehle, Fox, Pontsler, Now, Heitkamp Rutledge absent   Also attending: Judy Koesters, Jeff Long, Srgt Stetler, Tom Stankard of the Daily Standard.   Motion Gehle. Refreshments will be served after the concert. Adults $7 and Children 10-17 $5.   Proceeds benefit the Parkway High School Band.   Rockford Fire Department Chicken Dinner and Reverse Raffle – September 9th   8th Annual – Sock Hop on Market St @ The Belle – September 30th   “Soup”er Concert in the Park – October 8th – Shanes Park 11:30 am   Rockford Chamber Banquet – October 23rd – Community Building       Village Administrator’s Report – Jeff Long   Stop signs have been ordered.   Subdivision work slowed down as crew was needed at another site for some deadlines.   Request to fill in trench on Rockford West where road was cut. This is NOT a babysitting service.     Cheryl Ann Programs have been working in Mercer County for 50 years. To celebrate this anniversary, they are planting trees in Mercer County Parks. A tree planting ceremony will take place (at log cabin) at Shanes Park in Rockford, on Wednesday – July 19th from 1 – 2 pm.   The public is welcome to attend. Ice Cream will be served after the planting.   Drug Take Back – provided by the Mercer County Sheriff Office will be held at the Rockford Fire Department on Saturday – July 29th from 9 am – noon. Rockford EMS – Health Fair and Open House will be held at the Rockford Fire Department on Saturday, July 29th from 9 am – noon. Village of Rockford Council – June 20, 2017 – Budget hearing minutes

2018 Budget Hearing called to order by Steve Gehle Chair of the Finance Committe on  Tuesday,  June 20, 2017 at 7:15 pm at the Rockford Village Hall.   Present: Steve Gehle, Rob Rutledge, Jeff Long, Greg Pontsler, Brad Now, Amy Joseph, Wilbur Fox and Lisa Kuhn   Budget presented as a prelimary budget that is basically the same as last year. We will begin with 3rd quarter numbers to project the final 2018 Budget.   Things are looking ok.   Radio station looking into getting the internet free and increase speed with a trade for some one liners.   We had the last payment on one of the loans for the WWTP – which is good since we are looking at finishing our new upgrades by the end of the year. Money collected now will go into the new debt retirement fund.   We continue to strive for 3 main goals with water and sewer services:   Good Service Promote environmental responsibility Keep rates as low as we can   We will be able to keep up with Fremont expansion and if other economic development occurs we are ready to expand.         Meeting adjourned at 7:22 PM    ...
